By the Hurst Rethink Team with thanks to Interiors by Georgie.
It has never felt more important to support one another than right now. During these challenging times Hurst Rethink is setting out to see how it can shine a big light on all things positive and actively support our local community going forward into the new year. As the lyrics of Johnny Mercer say, we want to “accentuate the positive and eliminate the negative!”
Despite what the news constantly tells us, we feel it’s important that everyone reminds themselves of how remarkable they have been during 2020; resilient, flexible and adaptable to the core and over such a long period of time. There are many good news stories to be recalled, from caring neighbours to key workers and full food banks.
Hurst Rethink would like to meet the situation we all find ourselves in with a supportive attitude and we feel that the best way we can do this is to remind our local residents of the benefits of keeping connected, caring for one another and staying sociable and busy.
Seek Solace in Simple Pleasures
On a personal, day to day level, we can look for the simple pleasures that are big on wellbeing. It’s important to try to have a daily routine and set yourself some simple goals. Take care of your physical wellbeing and get some fresh air every day. Look after your sleep routine and try to talk about any worries and difficult feelings. Do the things you enjoy and most importantly, especially during these periods of lockdown, try to relax and concentrate on the present.
On a community level, we are lucky enough to have some amazing businesses working online during the pandemic. Here you’ll find a list of helpful services both locally and nationally:
